No. VerTerra products won’t alter the taste of your food in any way. They also have no lacquers on them, so there’s nothing to leach into your food. Leaching can happen with plastics or PLA plastics (aka bioplastic).
Yes, within reason. VerTerra dinnerware is significantly more durable than plastic or paper plates. It’s perfectly safe to heat VerTerra in the microwave for up to 2 minutes or in an oven up to 350 degrees for 45 minutes. You can also store VerTerra products with food in a fridge or freezer.
Yes, you can reuse them several times. Just gently wipe your dishes with warm soapy water to clean. However, keep in mind that they will need to dry and that some foods, such as tomato sauces and beets, may slightly stain the dishes.
No. Recycling involves melting permanent materials (i.e. metals, glass, plastic, and etc), and reforming them for reuse. Since our products are made from leaves, they’re compostable and will naturally return to the earth in 2 months
